Les's Letter

To my grandson Brandon,

As I write this, in 2022, when humankind is suffering the beginnings of the earth's fightback against the damage done to it by humans, our politicians are chanting the mantra of 'growth' as their vision of the future. Sadly, they do not see that their model of growth has been the cause of the problems we now have. We need to challenge the concept of this model, which is nothing other than growth for growth's sake, a cynical dismissal of what negative effects it might have. We need to grow environmental health, not to bring disease to it - and we need to heal the effects of the damage we have already done. These are the only ways to ensure your future health.
