Gabrielle 's Letter

To my three gifted grandchildren ,

I feel I am coming towards the end of my own time on this earth, but I can’t help fretting about the world you three grandchildren will be living in over the next twenty years or so. (I do not feel in any way able to look further ahead for now).

I am excited for you all, and the great gifts and abilities you are starting to show already, and have great trust that between you all, you will be in a position to make this world a better place for all of humankind.
What do I mean by that?
# that you see and experience for yourselves that life works best wherever there is consultation, contribution, collaboration, convergence;
# that what is happening, right here and now and all over the world, with regard to the sheer relentless pace of climate change, simply isn’t going to wait while we agonise over what to do and how to do it;
# that the environment, economy and ethics should at the very least aspire to be compatible and not in conflict or opposition, if only as a basic starting point in your own thinking;
# that a world in which political and financial considerations take precedence over the environment and natural world needs constantly to be challenged and ALL its knock on implications are fully considered;
# that true quality of life, for all humankind, for the whole planet, is so very much bigger than our own little bit of the experienced world,
# above all, I WANT YOU ALL TO SURVIVE AND THRIVE!
