Ann 's Letter

To those in the future ,

My hope for you is that we did the right things now.

I hope we abandoned our ‘slash and burn’ approach to this planet.

I hope we learned to put people before profit.

I hope the wildlife we had is still yours.

I hope we reduced traffic and cleaned up the air.

I hope the few who have so much helped the many who have so little.

I hope those in political power looked to the long term.

I wish you could write back to me now to let us know how we did. Most of us are doing our best but we often feel our actions are futile when governments, large corporations, political egos and the super-rich treat the Earth and all life on it with such contempt. We keep fighting against corruption and ignorance though and maybe bit by bit we brought change about. I hope so.
