To my son Jo,

I’m just so sorry that we didn’t protect you properly against what we KNEW was coming but that we carried in regardless as believing in lies was easier than acting on a hard truth. I want you to know that your father & I really tried to make a difference but that the people who counted were only ever interested in short term gain, rather than a sustainable future for the earth. I wanted so much for you to be able to enjoy clean air, pristine water & a life of appreciating the natural world, as I know you do already.
I try not to give in to despair, but it is very hard when so many people refuse to accept the evidence of their own eyes & ears.
