Sophie 's Letter

To my daughters,

Dear beautiful, miraculous, awesome daughters,

I have no idea what the rest of your lives will be like. I wish I had the certainty that my own mother seemed to have: that the world would continue much as it had done in her lifetime, that it could only get more advanced, that there would be a wealth of opportunity for me. I think I just have uncertainty. Or maybe I feel certain about one thing: that change, of one sort or another, is coming.

You will need kindness, resilience and support from each other (ideally support from the wider community too). I will need courage, kindness and foresight (as much as one can reasonably have in this uncertain scenario).

Nobody knows what the future will bring. Until then, let’s celebrate every day of life we are given.
